I believe that the CPU is safe at 3.7, I am just wondering why AMD lists 3.5 as a base clock rate.

Hello all!

I'm currently having an issue with my build and it won't boot up when powering on. All that happens is that the BIOS flashback light blinks green, as well as the motherboard starts green and then turns into flashing red. Nothing else turns on. Also, the PSU's fan doesn't spin when connected. I unplugged the 24 pin connected to the mobo, and plugged it into a tester the PSU company provided, and the PSU's fan turned on fine and the CPU cooler turned on as well. I've checked all connection's and made sure everything was seated properly and couldn't find anything wrong. I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem and if anyone has found a solution for this.

These are my specs:

CPU: ThreadRipper 1950X
Mobo: AsRock Fatal1ty X399 Pro Gaming
Memory: 32Gb G.Skill RipJaws V 3200Mhz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050Ti
PSU: EVGA 650 G3
Storage: 1Tb Samsung 970 Evo SSD
CPU Cooler: Corsair H150i Pro

Hi there, I recently bought 16gb of G.Skill Tridentz Cl14 3200Mhz RAM, and I can't seem to run it past 2667 Mhz. I've tried to manually set the timings, enable only the xmp, overclock cpu, run the cpu at stock speeds, I've tried using ryzen master, everything really. I'm hoping it's not a problem of supported speed as I'm really not looking forward to purchasing another board.

I also recently discovered that the graphics card fans are also spinning, regardless of whether the main power cables are in or not.

Updated my board to BIOS 5.50 voltage limit is still set to 1,40v which is the only option to have my hynix mfr RAM stably working on its stock 3200Mhz because it is unstable with 1,35v which is stock voltage in XMP profile of my sticks. Don't see any improvement in stability or higher clocks possible though. What I liked about new BIOS is that now you can just choose desired RAM clock and also change timings without going deep into AMD CBS options.

I still hope we could get voltage increase for RAM up to 1,5v even though warranty will be void when it is chosen

Prior in beta 4.81 I was able to clock my corsair lpx 3200 m-die hynix at 3200 MHz with some custom settings like 16-18-18-18-38-56 and 1.38v and without tweeking I could clock it at 3066 MHz with just the xmp profile. Now nothing works, sometimes the previous stable settings shut down the system during post until discarded and I am forced to go back to xmp 2933MHz like I was last year with the first bioses. How do you manage to worsen the memory support with agesa 1006 is beyond me. I want to really throw this motherboard out of the window.

Hi
You should give sone more details to be helped, i.e. bios version, os, etc.

Before someone more skilled answers, afaik there is no option to switch off fans (so one can't accidentally burn something...)

I suppose you're using Windows, are you sure that you didn't suspend to ram or hybernate? Instead of shutdown?

Last thing that comes to my mind - try some flash recovery. Something like

I've seen similar stuff for ASRock but I can't find the link.

Sounds like the RAM training issue. What is the last debug code befor the mobo reboots?

You should also try just 1 stick of RAM and a CMOS reset.

Hello,

I have a question regarding the particular board.

I have noctua nh d15 with 2 coolers connected onto the cpu fan pin.

All works fine..

I go to a tuning, do the fan tastic tuning, test goes well, fans sped up, i click apply.....they go silent again.

when the temp is higher the fans do not spin up as they should according to the graph in a tuning.

Any ideas why?

Cheers

Hi xhue,
Thanks for your reply.

I did install the Bride-B updated before proceeding to 4.40. That installeed successfully with the Windows flash update service. A little bit strange that ASRock doesn't have the flash updates all for Win 7 / 10 GUI for their motherboards. Its very common these days.

I will email ASRock support if I cannot find any further help here, but if you or others have advice, please share.

i have a similar problem, changing RGB values in BIOS dosn't make anything, but i could set the color from polychrome RGB app so i didn't bother. now, i updated polychrome RGB app to latest 1.0.27, and it won't open anymore, so i can't change anything now.

moreover, this site is flagged as not secure by chrome, and so it was the registration page. very bad asrock, very very bad

Thanks for the reply.
1. I already tried it with only 1 stick of ram. Did not change anything. But when I did manage to enter the UEFI, for a short period of time, I could see all my 4 ram sticks detected properly, so I don't think the RAM is the problem, right?
2. I tried 2 GPUs (out of which the older, I know FOR SURE is working, because it's the one I'm using on the older setup, while writing this very second), in 3 out of the 4 PCI Express Slots (the 4th one is too low, and thick GPUs don't fit there, because of the power supply shroud)
3. I checked the pins, they look alright. I reseated the CPU 5-6 times already, and got no change.
4. Unfortunately, I have no other PSU (this powerful, anyway), at the moment, but the computer fans are spinning and the RGB lights are turning on, so some power is definitely being delivered to the setup..
Any other ideas?
I'm thinking that, considering that I did see the CPU for a short while (until I changed boot settings in UEFI), the CPU does function. Also, I saw all 4 sticks of RAM, and managed to enable XMP2.0, to get the RAM to 3200Mhz, and they ran at that speed, so I guess the RAM is also good?. So, I'm trying to isolate the problem, and right now, I am thinking that the motherboard may be problem?

Sad, indeed. After so much poking around and swap of so many components, I think it is the mobo after all.

Before you ship the mobo back for RMA, can you try BIOS recovery flash with the latest version, being it even a beta? Check both JZ's site and ASRock's for the most recent version, then check your manual for the exact steps.

Thanks for the update on this thread.

Does anyone else have Fatalit1ty Professional Gaming X370 who would like to comment how they successfully updated their BIOS to ver 5.10 (latest as of Christmas 2018) which required: 4.40 first?

Dear HaKaN,

Greetings, this is ASRock TSD.

The IOMMU support depends on which CPU is in used.

For Summit Ridge 1800X CPU, please enable the IOMMU under BIOS Advanced tab>AMD CBS>NBIO Common Options>NB Configuration>IOMMU

Thanks!

All the best,
ASRock TSD
