Wow, okay. So this beta is already a few patches old. Still, it was definitely an improvement for me. I'm able to run my ram on XMP and it seems to have removed the last rare remaining stutters/spikes during games.

Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac
Version: 5.81 AGESA Combo-AM4 1.0.0.3
Origin: "a user on another Forum", probably ASRock support but not sure.

Benefits over stock bios for me:
1. Now able to run my GSkill Micron-B 3200 at full speed via XMP profile. Previously I had to dial it down to 3000.
2. No longer experiencing any random stuttering/CPU spikes in games.
3. I did not try my old, previously undetected m.2 drive yet.

I have new build using the Phantom Gaming 6 with a Ryzen Threadripper 2920X CPU.

My issue is I can only get the turbo boost function to work when the CPU clock rate is set the 3.5 GHz. When I go into the bios and manually set the CPU voltage and CPU clock, any clock setting above 3.5 GHz locks all of the cores to that frequency even though the turbo boost settings in the bios as the same as work when the CPU clock is set to 3.5 GHz.

How can I overclock the CPU (e.g. to 3.9 GHz) and still get turbo boost to work?

Do you have a link to the other forum? Some users may be more comfortable knowning it came from ASRock support.

you should not need a fresh install of windows. if you see the drive with windows when you use a windows install or repair usb then you are ok. this guide in the link below has the complete instructions which you need to adapt to your situation. i find that simply reformating the efi partition is the way to go so you don't wind up with 2 bootloaders in the system. so use dispart select your efi/system partition, format it. then locate the drive letter of your windows on your hard drive. exit dispart and execute command to generate efi files on the efi partition. reboot. ignore part about msr partition that should be there already.

For those using a stock bios based on AGESA 1.0.0.1 and are having RAM speed issues, please read/watch this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/cbpt6p/psa_asrock_b350b450_pro4_with_r5_36003600x_bsod/

Running at 2133 didn't work for me becase the RAM's SPD dictates to run that speed at a low voltage. Simply dropping down from 3200 to 3000 made my system very stable.

I plan to upgrade my CPU, that`s why I Flashed this bios.
Every other settings are saved except this one.

BTW I am using Ryzen 5 1600, 32Gb ram(4x8Gb),EVGA Rtx 2060 (was Vega 64 but died) ,750W EVGA SuperNOVA G2L PSU, 256Gb Nvme SSD, 512Gb sata SSD, 1 TB HDD.

The simple overclocking disables turbo clocks by default. I don't remember off hand as I don't overclock my 2950x but I believe the settings you are looking for are under the advanced tab, Zen Options. I find precision boost yields near identical performance to my best manual overclock attempts and more importantly, at lower voltages. PBO works very well on second gen Threadripper. I spent days fine tuning and tweaking when I built the system only to discover that PBO worked better and was less problematic (at least for my workloads).......

Now if you need higher all core clocks than PBO sets you will need to look under the advanced settings and manually set your multipliers there:
2 cores = XX
4 cores = XX
etc.

Motherboard: X470 Taichi
CPU: Ryzen 7 3900x
BIOS: 3.40 & 3.43

Same issue with both of the above bios, xmp causes bsod, reboots and hard locks.
Version 3.43 was actually worse as it gives WHEA bsod errors even with ram running non xmp profiles.

Currently using 3.40 with ram at 2400mhz AMD perfectly stable.

Ryzen 3xxx sets internal divider to 1:2 when 3733 or higher is used! Optimal RAM speed for Zen 2 is 3600MT/s!

I am pretty sure you cannot share mainboard RAM with an external graphics card. Besides, even if you could, I don't think you would want to. GPU RAM is significantly faster than CPU RAM, so the additional ram would possibly slow down your performance.

Hello,

I recently purchased an Asrock B450M Pro4 and am having an issue with the build.
When I push the start button, the CPU fan starts up for about 20 - 30 seconds then stops, and after 2 seconds it restarts and continues this loop.
I have tried
- x2 550W power supplies which have been connected to the motherboard. (x1 is brand new and the other from an older working computer),
- x2 new Ryzen CPU's (Ryzen 3600 & Ryzen 2200G), CPU fan connected
- Speaker connected to speaker header
- Power switch connected to system panel header
- Motherboard is on anti static bag

No beeps are emitted from speakers

Is there anything else I can look at before I return the motherboard to supplier to check or replace?

Before you give up on this, what is your procedure for increasing the speed to 3400? You should be able to just go into Bios, change load XMP setting to "XMP 2.0 Profile" (default is auto), and then select DDR4-3400. I have a similar setup (B450 Pro 4, Ryzen 2200G, G. Skill Flare X 3200). You should not have to adjust any timings with the calculator.

However, there are two things that stick out that you may have to check. First, the B450M board says it supports 3200+ RAM. Forgive my ignorance, but you may only be able to get up to 3200 with this memory. Secondly, this ram is not on the QVL list, but that doesn't always mean the RAM is NOT compatible.

If you are just trying to overclock your ram, good luck, I have started to dive into this and it isn't easy.

AMD Motherboards : B450 Gaming K4, can't access BIOS except via Boot

Subject: B450 Gaming K4, can't access BIOS except via Boot
Posted: 24 Jul 2019 at 4:19am

I just setup a B450 Gaming K4 with a 2600. First boot, everything came up and I went straight into the BIOS.

Immediately recognized the 2600, the fans, 4x4GB of DDR4, a Samsung SATA M.2 drive(in the M2-2 slot) and a Hitachi 2TB platter (in Sata1).

I decided to go ahead and put 3.30 on it and it flashed successfully. Executed the reboot(intending to do a bios load to defaults), and got not video. Pulled power, waited a bit, tried again, no audible POST errors, but no video(monitor never detected it). I pulled power, waited a few minutes, shorted CMOS jumper for about 10 seconds, pulled the jumper. Then booted, got the splash screen, tried to access BIOS, screen clears...and it sits there, then reboots about 15 seconds later. Rinse and repeat.

Finally, I tried accessing the Boot Menu. It came up(although it only lists the Hitachi...does not list my Samsung M.2 SATA drive) and I selected to enter BIOS and it goes right in. Currently, the only way I can enter the BIOS is via the Boot menu.

Any suggestions?

Also, I verified the BIOS is seeing my M.2 drive(shows on the Storage Options screen). It's in M.2 2, but again, nothing is plugged into the shared SATA ports(using Sata1 for the Hitachi). I verified CSM is enabled, I did try disabling and re-enabling too. I need to use the M.2 as my boot drive obviously, so I'm worried about that, but not about to deal with anything else until I figure out why I can't access the BIOS from POST.

That is horrible. Sounds like the fan is defective. I wonder if anyone will figure out custom cooling solutions for such chipsets? They can really benefit from bigger and more silent fans.

hello.
I've tried it with XMP settings, and it did not boot. Nor when I tried to tweak the settings a little with raising timings. Anything above 3200Mhz is impossible so far.

3200 works, and I use it right now. But no matter how I try, I cannot get them work at their factory 3400Mhz.

QVL as far as I know, is just a very brief list of those kits, the MoBo-s manufacturer tested the board. So 99.9999% of the time, completely irrelevant.

Guys, I've noticed that my R5 3600 with box cooler had 55 C deg from first run a week ago. After last update of Bios it goes up to even 71.
Is it already critical? In what range it should be?

   Motherboard   46 °C
   CPU   66 °C
   CPU Diode   67 °C
