I am inclined to agree. There are a few M.2 models that have compatibility issues
but at this stage, Tech Support should be contacted so they can determine if
there is a fault with the board.

Thanks. Still doesn't mean much. Buildzoid successfully overclocked different 4x8 or 2x8+2x16 configurations on various "known" daisy chain motherboards from MSI or Gigabyte.

Hi All,

I cannot seem to get any recent version of Windows 10 (1903 or 1809) to install with my Taichi X370 and Ryzen 1700X CPU. Windows 10 will BSOD during installation with strange messages such as "Kernel Security Check Failure" and "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT". If it does successfully make it through the installation process, when the machine boots, it will BSOD within a few minutes with one of the above messages or the mouse just quits moving (everything freezes).

I have tried everything I can think of. I even slipstreamed the latest AMD chipset drivers (Maybe these newer AMD drivers are the problem? They're not stable with older Ryzen processors?) using NTLITE into my Windows 10 ISO. Nothing makes a difference. MemTest86 passes with flying colors. There are no memory issues with this machine. My installation of Windows 7 is completely stable and has never blue screened once. I do all of my gaming in 7, but I wanted to use 10 so that I could activate GSync. So, what gives? I've tried BIOS version 3.30, 4.80, and 5.10. The BIOS version does not seem to make a difference. I've enabled and disabled several settings in the BIOS to see if that makes a difference as well. Nothing seems to work. Windows 10 continues to BSOD, and I cannot get it installed.

I'm currently running BIOS version 5.10.

I will say that I was able to install a very old build of Windows 10 in the past, and it was stable. However, when I updated the AMD chipset drivers on it, it became hosed, completely unstable, and experienced BSODs. What gives? Is AMD really this unstable? Anyone know what I could try? I do not overclock anything and run everything at its defaults. I verified the RAM speed (set to auto) is correct.

Anyone know?

Hello, I recently bought a A320M-HDV motherboard and it has the very earliest bios version on it, I am trying to update it but not having much luck, when I download the bios from the support section of Asrock I am only left with 1 file after I Unzip what I have downloaded, this file is not a .bin file but is a .00 or .40 depending on the version I download, needless to say that when I try to flash the bios from a fat32 formatted usb stick I just get a massage to say 'image not found'.

I have tried to unzip with both windows zipper and winrar, is there something i'm doing wrong?

The flash maybe does not work, because the new bios is too new.

Is it the A320M-HDV R4.0 board?
What CPU are you using?
If it is a Gen1 or Gen2 Ryzen, you should not try to update to a newer version as based on AMD AGESA to 1.0.0.6.

Version 1.40:
- AGESA 1.0.0.6

Version 1.50:
1. Improve SATA M.2 SSD compatibility with Bristol Ridge CPU
2. Correct CSM control mechanism

So 1.5 should be fine

With 2.00 the bios starts to support new Gen3 CPUs.

The mainboard supports dual channel and there is nothing to enable it.
Just insert the two RAM sticks.
If the system only reports single channel, than it has a problem.

So either one RAM stick or one RAM slot on the board is faulty, which you have to find out.

Test with one stick in A1 and then with this stick in B1.
And the same procedure again with the other stick.

I stumbled upon this while trying to get WoL to start my PC remotely (from a power-on state).

I'm able to get WoL working (to wake from sleep) without any issues. If you're still having issues, I can at least tell you what I have set up (at least before I go messing with drivers in pursuit of remote power-on).

It can take a while sometimes. Typically I get a response in a day or 2. I always
send tickets anonymously so I don't get any sort of preferential treatment so
this should be accurate for anyone in the EU and Asia regions (I have tested both
departments). The US however I have not tested in a few years now so I don't know
how their turnaround time is.

More often than not, when people don't get responses it's because the ticket
failed to send. Make sure you enter your details correctly and ensure you
received an automated response to the email address you entered. If you don't
get an automated response the ticket was not received by Tech Support. Check
your spam folder too as it often ends up there, I think its the ".tw" suffix
that does it.

If you still don't have a response by the end of Monday, send another one and
try selecting a different region.

The Regions are as follows:

Europe (all of continental Europe)
Asia (Asia, Eurasia and Australia)
USA

So when entering your location pick one that falls firmly into one of those categories.

I have the same problem. Got 2 SATA 3TB drives. After running Polychrome app and PC restart both partitions are lost. Fortunately Diskgenius recovers them.
And Polychrome app needs about minute to run (while doing spin ups and downs and strange HDD clicks).

Thanks all. I managed to get the M.2 SSD detected after reformatting it several times. System seems stable now.

On a side note, I've contacted AsRock support about the first issue on 25th of October and still have not received any response from them. Not the fastest response time now. Had to crawl all the internet looking for solutions.

Thanks again

Thanks again

And how could you reformat it when it is not recognised?
In another machine or what?

Is SVM mode really on in the bios?
And i think you have to ensure that SMT is also enabled.

You maybe also have to enable
Advanced\North Bridge config\SR-IOV support
and
Advanced\AMD CBS\NBIO Commom Options\NB Config\IOMMU

Hello, When I do any type of restart on my system, it boots to the bios. When in the bios it does not show my hard drive and the boot sequence shows nothing. When I exit bios either with saving and exit or do not save and exit, it boots right back to the bios. Now if I shut my computer down completely and then start it up, it boots up to windows with no problems. Not sure what is causing this.

5700 GPU
2x8GB DDR4-3000 RAM
Samsung 850 EVO SATA
OCZ Vertex 4 SATA

Yesterday, I've installed ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB SSD.
I was on 1.40 firmware and it didn't get recognized in BIOS. I've flashed firmware to 1.80 and it got recognized in BIOS and in Windows.
Fool as I am, I flashed to 3.40 because I'll be swaping CPU in few days. And lo and behold - SSD again non existant. Tried 3.50 - again no luck.
Tried 3.40 again - nothing.
Is there a way to go back to 1.80 ? I tried normal flash but it won't pass.
What else to do ?

If this case then it will be my first time doing such a thing, would you recommend a particular guide about this?

If the bios from the board is too old, you also will need an old gen1/Gen2 CPU for updating the bios.
Version 3.30 is the first supporting Gen3 CPUs, 3.60 is the newest.

If you cannot clearify the bios version fitting with the 3600 CPU, i would not buy it.

Just to clarify, i cant update the bios version using usb stick without any cpu installed on the board?

No, you can't update a B450M-Pro4 without CPU.
And if the bios is older as version 3.30, you additionally need a Gen1 or Gen2 CPU for doing that!

The flashback feature for updating without CPU is supported only by some
newer Asrock boards.
